East New York Rezoning

In 2016, the NYC Department of City Planning (DCP), together with the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), completed a rezoning of an approximately 190-block area including portions of the East New York/Cypress Hills and Ocean Hill neighborhoods. The rezoning and related actions are expected to enable new residential, commercial, community facility, and manufacturing development, including approximately 6,312 new residential units. The goals of the rezoning included creation of affordable housing, along with economic growth and job opportunities for residents. PHA prepared the project's Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).
