PHA served as civil engineer for the NYC School Construction Authority’s first “Net Zero Energy” school building, P.S.62R, the Kathleen Grimm School for Leadership and Sustainability, in the Woodrow neighborhood of Staten Island. The 444-seat elementary school was designed to generate as much energy as it uses. PHA prepared the builders pavement plans, site connection proposal, site grading plan, as well as the design of the driveway/drop-off area for the project.
